I see lots of reactionary takes about this game being the best of the generation and crazy shit like that. It's long, and the gameplay is extremely okay, but the story is charming and fun. I'm not really sure why people are so indignant about the reviews (besides the bugs which are largely not a problem), because to be honest I pretty much agree with all of the complaints of this game. It really draws you in to the characters relationships, making you guess about what will happen next, and how each character is related to others, who hooks up with who, who dies, etc. But it knows what it is and I love it for that. The acting is cheesy, not amazing, triumphant music plays after sex, the cheesy speeches before and after battles. This game's story is very much a b-grade tv show. The only thing pulling me through to the mid game was seeing how the flashback cutscenes and Sarah and Deacon's relationship were to evolve, despite being cheesy and pretty generic.īut with that being said, I slowly became endeared to the story and characters, somewhat out of sheer spending an absurd amount of time with them, and somewhat out of the game's growing dedication to the cheese factor as well as developing more complex relationships (Skizzo and Mike, for example, really hooked me). It's serviceable (besides the hordes which are introduced in the last 20% of the game and are pretty much a post-game mechanic). To be honest, I still don't think the game is overall very great mechanically. The open world, while beautiful, is repetitive, dull, and the unavoidable OP wolves and snipers extremely fucking annoying. For some reason Deacon throughout the whole game is a different character in the cutscenes versus the annoying as fuck muttering he does outside of cutscenes in which he sounds like a complete maniac.

Deacon and Boozer were unlikeable, the story extremely generic. Easy to use software which provides you ability to play top 10 zombie games for free.
I finished it and platinumed it a couple days ago, but I really disliked the game in the beginning until you get to the 3rd camp.
