I also believe there are some inaccuracies throughout the port. This is especially noticeable in the last part before the loop point, but you can feel it all throughout in smaller doses as well. While complex songs will inevitably have some parts that can't be ported over to the channel limit, you do have a considerable amount of empty space here, and seeing as a lot of the sections you omitted are integral to the song, it really detracts from the overall port quality that they're missing. Next, there are overall a ton of background melodies that are missing just to name a few, there's the pizzicato string thing (?) around 0:09, the harpsichord/blingy thing around 0:17, the saw thing (?) around 0:27 before the new section, the various submelodies starting around 0:30, as well as 1:00, where there should be a lot more going on, and so forth. I feel like a combination of for the chords and either a high-pitched or something like with a very high attack for the lead could work better. On top of this, the string/choir chords from the original are also missing. This is partially because of the sample you used, which doesn't loop and is more staccato than other SMW samples, combined with the rests between each note. This port is off to a decent start, and I like what you've done with the lead but I think that it could use a fair bit of cleanup, and there's a number of sections that are missing.įirst, the intro sounds considerably emptier compared to the original.
